Drunk Driver Crashed His Owner’s Mercedes Benz SUV With Four Parked Cars In Lagos

Crash.png

image

According to reports by Cool FM OAP Freeze, he explains how a drunk driver crashed a black Mercedes-Benz M-Class SUV into four cars that were parked.

This happened early hours of this morning at 1004 apartments, Victoria Island, Lagos.
He said:

“This crazy episode was attributed to drunk driving, as his colleagues made statements like “Ti ko ba iti high laaro kutukutu!” And “o ti mu oti yo!” Dear Nigerians, please run a background check on domestic staff before employing them, what if your children were in that car or playing behind that car? I can only imagine the sorrow the owner of the car has to endure this morning, as he coughs out nearly 2 million Naira in this recession, to pay for the damaged cars!”

However, there was no casualties and the  driver has since been taken to the nearest police station.

President Buhari Addressed Professionals In Diaspora Explaining How We Got Into Trouble As A Nation

PMB in diaspora.jpeg

Nigerian professionals in the United States of America converged from different parts of the State’s. The fifteen(15) top rate professionals whom the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Diaspora Matters and International Relations, Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa, described the 15 of them as the best people God ever created.

image

They were in New York to meet with President Buhari. Top flight aeronautics engineers, physicians, I.T experts, a Judge, a top policewoman, entrepreneurs, an Import Specialist at Customs and Border Protection, professors, two straight A students, and many others.

The meeting provided President Buhari opportunity to explain and update them on how and why
Nigeria got into trouble, and therfore  assuring them that with all hands on deck, including the best brains in the Overseas, the country would bounce back in the shortest possible time.

Read a few of the statement released by the Senior Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina below:

“I am very pleased with this meeting,” President Buhari stated. “Wherever you go in the world, you find highly competent and outstanding Nigerians.

They not only make great impact on their host countries and communities, their financial remittances back home also help our economy, particularly at a time like this, when things are down.

“We got into trouble as a country, because we did not save for the rainy day. For example, between 1999 and 2015, when we produced an average of 2.1 million barrels of oil per day and oil prices stood at an average of $100 per barrel, we did not save, neither did we develop infrastructure. Suddenly, when we came in 2015, oil prices fell to about 30 dollars per barrel.

“I asked; where are the savings? There were none. Where are the railways? The roads? Power? None. I further asked; what did we do with billions of dollars that we made over the years? They said we bought food. Food with billions of dollars? I did not believe, and still do not believe.

“Talking of our military, they earned respect serving in places like Burma, Zaire, Sudan, Liberia, Sierra-Leone, and then, suddenly, that same military could no longer secure 14 out of 774 local governments in the country. Insurgents had seized them, calling them some sort of caliphate, and planting their flags there; till we came, and scattered them.

“We raised the morale of our military, changed the leadership, re-equipped and retrained them; USA, Britain, and some other countries helped us, and today, the pride of our military is restored.

“Boko Haram ran riot, killing innocent people in churches, mosques, markets, schools, motor parks, and so on. And they would then shout Allahu Akbar. But if they truly knew Allah, they would not do such evil. Neither Islam, nor any other religion I know of, advocates hurting the
innocent. But they shed innocent blood, killed people in their thousands. Now, we have dealt with that insurgency, and subverted their recruitment base.

“Those who stole Nigeria dry are not happy. They recruited the militants against us in the Niger Delta, and began to sabotage oil infrastructure. We lose millions of barrels per day, at a time when every dollar we can earn, counts. It is a disgrace that a minimum of 27 states, out of 36 that we have in Nigeria, can’t pay salaries.

“But I prayed so hard for God to make me President. I ran in 2003, 2007, 2011, and in 2015, He did. And see what I met on ground. But I can’t complain, since I prayed for the job.

In the military, I rose from 2nd Lieutenant to Major- General. I was military governor in 1975 over a state that is now six states. I was head of state, got detained for three years, and headed the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF), which had N53 billion of that time in Nigerian banks.
“God has been very good to me, so I can’t complain. If I feel hurt by anybody, I ask God to help me forgive. He has done so much for me.

“After 16 years of a different party in government, no party will come and have things easy. It’s human. We need quality hands to run Nigeria, and we will utilize them. I will like to welcome you home when it’s time. But I’ll like you to be ready.”

All the Nigerian professionals pledged to contribute their quota towards re-launching their fatherland to a new dawn.

Mark Zuckerberg Invests $3 Billion To Assist Scientists Cure Diseases

M and P cure.png

Billionaire and Founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan announced on Wednesday to pledge over $3 billion in assisting scientists find ways to curing diseases.

Below is statement released via his official Facebook page:

“Priscilla and I just shared our next major focus for the Chan Zuckerberg
Initiative. Can we help scientists to cure, prevent or manage all diseases within our children’s lifetime? I’m optimistic we can. Medicine has only been a modern science for about a century, and we’ve made incredible progress so far.

Life expectancy has increased by 1/4 of a year per year since then, and if we only continue this trend, the average will reach 100 around the end of this century.

Today, just four kinds of diseases cause the majority of deaths. We can make progress on all of them with the right technology.
Throughout history, most scientific
breakthroughs have been preceded by the invention of new tools to help us see problems in new ways — like the telescope, the microscope and DNA sequencing. It’s not hard
to imagine the modern tools required to accelerate breakthroughs in today’s four major disease areas. So we’re going to focus on bringing scientists and engineers together to
build these new tools and technologies.

Today, we announced a few steps in this direction: Dr. Cori Bargmann, a world-renowned expert in neuroscience and genetics, is joining
the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative to lead this initiative. We are thrilled to welcome her.

We are committing to invest $3 billion over the next decade in this initiative to help scientists cure diseases.
Our first project is creating the Biohub. We’re investing $600 million in a new research hub to bring scientists and engineers together from Stanford, UCSF, Berkeley, and the world-class engineering team we’re building at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, in order to build some of
the new tools I mentioned above.
The science initiative is a long term effort. We plan to invest billions of dollars over decades.

But it will take years for these tools to be developed and longer to put them into full use.

This is hard and we need to be patient, but it’s important.
This is about the future we want for our daughter and children everywhere. If there’s a chance that we can help cure all diseases in our
children’s lifetime, then we will do our part.

Together, we have a real shot at leaving the world a better place for our children than we
found it. ”
