On Sunday, HMD brought smiles to the faces of lovers of the iconic mobile phone by rolling out a suite of new Nokia phones at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona as well as a relaunch.

The Nokia 3310 has the reputation of being one of the strongest phones that can take a bashing like a brick and it performs the basic function of making a call and sending texts. The new look however, has been given a makeover and remains as simple as ever with a $50 price tag.
The new version is lighter and comes in colorful options of red, yellow, blue and grey with a 2-mrgapixel camera and a microSD slot in addition to web browsing.

The biggest selling point of the phone is it’s battery life. The Nokia 3310 can boast of 22 hours talk time as well as a standby time of up to a full month. For all the lovers of the trademark Snake game, it now comes in a new look as well which adds to the fun.

This new release has not been made to compete with modern smart phones, but to appeal to those who can’t afford modern smart phones. The phone is said to be available by the second quarter of the year and can serve as a first phone for kids.

Drunk Driver Crashed His Owner’s Mercedes Benz SUV With Four Parked Cars In Lagos

According to reports by Cool FM OAP Freeze, he explains how a drunk driver crashed a black Mercedes-Benz M-Class SUV into four cars that were parked.

This happened early hours of this morning at 1004 apartments, Victoria Island, Lagos.
He said:

“This crazy episode was attributed to drunk driving, as his colleagues made statements like “Ti ko ba iti high laaro kutukutu!” And “o ti mu oti yo!” Dear Nigerians, please run a background check on domestic staff before employing them, what if your children were in that car or playing behind that car? I can only imagine the sorrow the owner of the car has to endure this morning, as he coughs out nearly 2 million Naira in this recession, to pay for the damaged cars!”

However, there was no casualties and the  driver has since been taken to the nearest police station.

Abdulmumin Jubrin To File Law Suit Against Speaker Dogara And 13 Others

Reps Abdulmumin.png

The heat in the house of Assembly is still on as Sacked Chairman, House Of Reps Committee on Appropriation, Abdulmumin Jibrin, says he is going to file a suit against the Speaker and the House of Representatives over his suspension from the Parliament,  Wednesday September 28th. And has instructed his lawyers in that regard.

Abdulmumin was suspended after failing to appear before the House of Reps Committee on Ethics and privileges over allegations of budget padding he is accusing the Speaker of the House as well as thirteen(13) other lawmakers.
Below is Jubrin’s statement :

“What is very important also is that now they have done their worst, they have suspended me, what has it changed? Has it changed the fact that the Speaker conspired with other principal officers to divert N40 billion out of N100 billion meant for constituency projects. Has it changed the fact that he inserted fraudulent projects worth 20 billion? Has it changed the fact that he diverted multi-million naira project to his personal farm? Has it changed the fact that he tried to use the running cost — money meant for running the offices of members — for a questionable mortgage? Has it changed the fact that he diverted FGN project to his farm. The most important thing is that Nigerians saw the entire process, how the motion was passed and what transpired at the level of the Ethics committee and entirely the process was flawed and for me it’s a non-issue and complete nonsense and it is not going to stand anywhere in the world. As you are aware the matter is a subject of litigation. I have instructed my lawyer, Femi Falana SAN to file charges of contempt against Speaker Dogara and of course the house of representatives and I’m sure the matter will move over to the judiciary and decision will be taken. I’m pretty sure it will be in my favour. At this point, I must say they freed me up to concentrate on the matter in court; I know the suspension is not going to stand.

Secondly, I’m going into a massive
alliance with civil society groups, NGOs and well-meaning Nigerian to continue to press ahead. I have said it, not once, not twice that it is not going to be easy. I’m not worried about myself but I am more worried about people around me. I think this is a big issue; I’m fighting a group of
mafia, and I know what they can do.
The battle I’m fighting is what Nigerians have always wanted to do in the last 16 years when democracy came to bare, to open the house of representatives and I’m determined to ensure that justice is served on Speaker Dogara and the corrupt body of principal officers and beyond that, reforms are implemented so we can have a house that Nigerians will be proud of.”
