Official: Paris St-Germain Announce Sensational World record Signing of Neymar from Barcelona

French club, PSG have completed the signing of 25-year- old Brazilian forward Neymar from Barcelona for a record fee of £200m (€222m) on a five year contract. The former Barcelona forward is set to be given the number 10 Jersey at the club.
Barcelona FC reported that the player paid his buy out clause after Spain’s top league La Liga rejected an attempt to pay it the fee over concerns PSG are violating Uefa’s Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules.

In a statement, Barca said they “will pass on to Uefa the details of the above operation so that they can determine the disciplinary responsibilities that may arise from this case”.
“On Thursday afternoon Neymar’s legal representatives visited in person the club’s offices and made the payment of 222m euros in the player’s name with regards to the unilateral termination of the contract that united both parties,” Barca’s statement read.

This deal is more than double the transfer fee paid by Manchester United for Paul Pogba, making him the most expensive player last season.

Neymar is set to earn £26.8m per year after tax at his new club which comes to about £515,000 per week, £73,571 per day and about £3,065 per hour.

In his speech, he said

“I am extremely happy to join Paris Saint-Germain,” said Neymar. “Since I arrived in Europe, the club has always been one of the most competitive and most ambitious.

“And the biggest challenge, what most motivated me to join my new team-mates is to help the club to conquer the titles that their fans want.

“Paris Saint-Germain’s ambition attracted me to the club, along with the passion and the energy this brings. I played four seasons in Europe and I feel ready to take the challenge.
